What are cookies?

Using the categorisation developed by the International Chamber of Commerce in its “Cookie guide”, we have identified we use the following categories of cookies:
(a) Category One – Strictly necessary cookies – these cookies are required to enable the user to move around the website and to use its features, but which are not used to gather information that could be used for marketing to the user or to remember customer preferences or user IDs outside a single session.
(b) Category Three – Functionality cookies – these cookies are typically the result of user action, but can be implemented in the delivery of a service not explicitly requested by the user. They can also be used to prevent a user being offered a service that it has previously rejected. They should not be used to re-target adverts (Category Four below).
Please note the categorisation of cookies has been made in good faith on the basis of information available to us, but we give no warranties the categorisation is accurate or complete.
The other categories of cookies identified by the International Chamber of Commerce are:
(a) Category Two – Performance cookies –these cookies are used to improve how the website works. They include web analytics, ad response rates, affiliate tracking, error management and testing designs. They should not be used to re-target adverts (Category Four below).
(b) Category Four – Targeting or advertising cookies – these cookies contain a unique key that is able to distinguish individual user browsing habits or store code that can be translated into a set of browsing habits or preferences using information stored elsewhere. These cookies can also be used to limit the number of times a user sees a particular ad on a website and to measure the effectiveness of a particular advertising campaign. These cookies are usually third party cookies.
Our website does not include 3rd party advertisements and we do not use Category 4 cookies.

How to block cookies
